FINOR is a new word inspired from ～

We aim to become a company that makes new definitions in the film industry and in the wider field of culture and entertainment.FINOR is a new word inspired from Latin word “FINS” which means “boundary”.By adding “OR”, which means “someone who does something”, to FIN, FINOR means “someone who draws a boundary.”

Drawing a boundary, a new, original world appears.Unclear things become clear.That is nothing but making a new definition.

We continue to challenge ourselves to draw boundaries, hoping that new definitions made by our boundaries create new worlds, and then, that the new worlds develop richer cultures.

わたしたちは、映画業界、そして幅広いカルチャー・エンターテインメントの分野で新しい定義を作っていく集団を目指します。

FINORは「FIN」と「OR」を組み合わせた造語です。
FINは、フランス語で「終わり」やサーフボードのフィンを意味しますが、
その語源はラテン語の「FINIS(境界線)」という古語です。
そのFINに、「〜する人」を示す「OR」を付けることで「境界線を引く者」という意味を表しています。

境界線を引くと、そこには新しい独自の世界が生まれます。
あいまいだったものが、はっきりとします。それは新しい定義を作ることに他なりません。

わたしたちは、境界線を引く挑戦を続けていきます。
その境界線が生む新しい定義が新しい世界を切り拓いていくことを、
そしてその新しい世界がさらに豊かな文化を育むことを願って。
